Fabric for Alois Trancy's vest?
I need a little help here. I have an idea of what I'll use for the coat (like a thick velvet or something expensive like that:P) But I have no clue how to go about the fabric for his vest. It looks like this: http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...der-outfit.jpg I already have the pattern I'll use. A little help? I looked at all the fabrics Jo-Ann has and I still couldn't decide on anything.

I got my vest fabric at Joann's it was a bottomweight. I got it in a solid. After the vest was finished I drew the stripes on with a fabric pen using a rule as a straight edge.

I used the Country Classic solids, it's sold in the quilting section at my store. I think the color was called Vineyard Green, and lined it with muslin. For the stripes, I took thin black satin ribbon, marked off where I wanted the stripes, and sewed it to the front before I stitched up the seams. It was a little fiddly, but took much less time than I thought it would.
