It's never happened to me but from the very beginning when I put on my costume I was very weary of escalators and always made sure to pick it up when getting on one just in case.

Happened to me last year. I was carrying some stuff from the dealers room and someone wasn't paying attention to where they where going and pushed me on the escalator. I had been holding my hakama up like a skirt while tring to balance my other stuff and i let go to catch myself. The bottom got ruined 'cause i had to tear it free. and the person who pushed me in the first place told me to be more carful what i where on an escalator then just took off.


I will bring back my Ise cosplay for this year.

Yea i understand about costumes getting ruined esp if you just get it out of the package i had a kimono i used for yyh cosplay it fell apart on me i had no clue it was a retro kimono lessoned learned. MAKE it on your own. I'm excited to see more Bleachers again What about you guys?

I'm excited too, I have been putting off Bleach cosplay for a long time cause of money/other plans, so it will be great to finally do it.

And wow Tai, that person was such a jerk! I would have been really mad..I get really annoyed when other people are careless with my property, even if they're strangers. It's not right. I've had people just shove me out of the way/hit me with their backpacks so they can get to where they want in the dealer's room. Is it so hard to be a little courteous!?

This is purely tentative at this point, I'm still working things out. But I'm looking at doing Imprisoned Aizen and possibly a Jail Break version (Figuring out the general design right now). As I said this is still tentative but I thought I should throw this out there. I haven't even looked at rooms yet for the con.

I'm kinda with pokey, This last otakon was pretty bad. Honestly, the 600 mile drive home got me thinking more about why I go to conventions since I haven't seen any anime for a while (over a year) or read the manga in about 8 months. I always said when they took down Aizen I was going to stop with Bleach. I pretty much stuck to that. Plus, the whole internet "culture" that is being adopted I find annoying (butscratcher, marco polo, ect). I missed the last 2 that I went to in 2010 and 2011 (Sugoicon and Ohayocon). At this point with my ankle acting up again I don't even know if I'd be able to walk around at otakon if i decided to go (depending on when/if the doctors decide to do surgery.) I've done the otakon after surgery thing back in 2005, so I know it's possible.

Money is another concern. If surgery is needed on my ankle, it will be removing a piece of bone, the recovery time would likely have me on crutches for most of the summer, which kind of eliminates most summer jobs. If i put aside tax money i'd be able to afford to go. The pickle to me is the motivation just isn't there. It's still a 600 mile drive (9 hours) each way.

I'll keep tossing the thought around.

*points to my icon* You want to talk about people being jerks to people in costumes. I have tunnel vision, limited movement and high temperatures. My biggest fear with that costume was someone jumping on my back, which, almost happened. If my 'handler' (the person looking out for me, being my eyes and keeping me safe), hadnt been there, and interfered, I could very easily break my arm if somewhere were to jump on me.

That, and I obviously couldnt use escalators in that costume, the elevator people were such assholes, no, i wasnt handicapped, but yes, I am in this costume. I really REALLY hate the otakon staff.

*shakes fist angerily* But, I wanted to thank the people at the shoot last year on saturday, who were kind enough to help me. I remember a Chad and someone else, fanning me to help cool off in that sweltering costume. I wish I could find them and say thank you.

I'll probably bring my new Gin, and my Dead Gin to otakon. I cant quit bleach shoots if i tried.

They've always been the same to me. Lots of people, though its dwindling down the past year. I'd say a really significant decrease. Still full of fun, epic people to make friends with though.
