Depending on what day the Fairy Tail gathering is I could probably be apart of this one. I'll be in my Tavros (probably wheel chair, details on that are foggy still) but if this doesn't interfere with the Fairy Tail gathering then I'm totally in.

I was thinking about this actually, and maybe wondering if we should make it a separate thing entirely? This meetup is going to be undoubtedly HUGE, considering the size of the ALA meetup in ratio to the size of ALA itself. I think trying to deal with a Can Town meet in the middle of this one is going to be a little much.

It could maybe be directly after, for people who want to stick around to "build" Can Town and such. But carting off all of the cans is going to be a pain, and since I have a really tiny car, I'm not going to be able to take them, so we'll need a volunteer there. XD;

Why not just have cantown BEFORE the gathering starts,lil while we wait for others and just start building it?If we do it after,it'd make no sense,middle,it would be falling here and there during shoots.But BEFORE,you could set it up for everyone to see while they wait!

good idea, building it before would also allow more space to set up, wouldn't it? and for delivering the cans, I should have enough space for them, so we really only need some help in moving the cans.

And I liked last years location :3,it was fairly big.But seeing how HS has gone into more than 50-100 people,that may be a problem...I don't want anyone bumping into each other and falling.

Usually I would say wait since we have no clue what will be available to us what with the X Games going on but I think that last years location sounds very nice (though I didn't attend the Homestuck gathering last year, I know where the location is at XD)

We don't have a choice. They put us in last year's location whether we like it or not, because we cannot be a "scheduled" gathering because we're not anime or Japanese-culture related. Knowing AX security and staff, we may even be moved again, and we may conflict with other meetups. The TF2 gathering is usually at the same location, and they have their meetup on Saturday as well, although they said their time and location is TBD.

I'm a little worried about doing Can Town before just because we don't know what will be going on, and I feel like it's going to run over into the gathering and be confusing. Then the building will be up and people will be tripping over it to get up to be photographed, as well. But that's just my two cents, I suppose.

I'm fairly sure that the maximum size for any props or things of that nature is 15ft. We saw some HUGE horns last year that were totally fine!

oh, alright then, we'll just have to wait for the official list to decide, then. i'm actually thinking of building the Can Town against a wall to avoid tripping and all that, and build it up as people bring cans, so when it's all complete people can just take pictures without so much chaos.

If we do Can Town before and then get moved, it would be a pain in the ass. But, it would also mean that an AX security guard might take pity on us and make us not move as far? If we get super lucky.

How about we build Can Town just outside the area we're gathering? Like, a few feet from the edge up on a step or something? That was it's not in front of all of us, but we could see if someone tried to do a "the hell is this, we should move it" thing.

Also, would anyone be interested in a Homestuck drawing meetup? There was one at Katsucon this year, and it was REALLY fun. We basically just sat around and drew pictures until like 3am. There was some artists giving out free stuff, and I got a Jadesprite bow. There was even people giving out Faygo and slime pie. I suck at planning things though, so I have no idea how to put it together. Would something like that be allowed?
