Well, you can buy 'em for about $30 (including s&h) from www.cospa.com You can also find them on eBay, but you should except to pay upwards of $70. If you want to make them, it will probably be difficult to get the nice, smooth look, but you may be able to pull it off by molding the ears out of model magic and then sanding them down to get a nice, smooth surface

You can get them for $30 from Cospa? The current pair on eBay is at . . . $102, I think it was. Those poor silly people, lol. But if you don't want to drop the $30 for the Cospa ones, sanding model magic should work too. ^^ Can you give us a picture? I've only read the first volume of Chobits so . . .

*lol* I know, I couldn't help cackling maliciously when I saw that. Silly people, paying $100 for two pieces of plastic glued on a headband =P

Okay - it's *this* outfit?
http://www.sweet-tactics.net/~chiich...its/black1.jpg

Check out two places in the pattern books - the spring books will have a section with prom-type dresses; and also look at the historical patterns . . . err, who is it who has that really good selection . . . I think it's Simplicity. But regardless you shouldn't have trouble finding a dress with a bodice and wide skirt. You just have to cut the skirt way higher in front. Are the sleeves even attached to the dress? They'll be easy, you could do them seperately and even sew them to the dress just under the arm. If you don't have to attach a sleeve at the shoulder, it's just a tube.

Err, hope I was helpful. Gonna do Chii's first manga outfit sometime I think . . .

I used Model Magic and no sanding was involved. I just kneaded and pressed them into the shape I wanted and for the most part, they were smooth. ^_^ I waited 24 hours to paint them and then I mounted them on a headband (only because she actually wears one with the outfit I had).

The little hair bobbins were modelled around pencils and left to dry 24 hours. Same process. I am going to try different mediums because I do want my ears to last and look nice.

I looove Chii so much!! I want to make all of her outfits!

I was able to create mine out of plastic by sculpting the ears, taking a mold, then filling it with plastic. This is a dangerous procedure, and an expensive one to boot. I had help from a friend who's used to chemicals and various tools. Te result was fantastic but the ears are heavy and can really hurt people (try hugging someone with them ^^;;;..).

To make simple lightweight Chobits ears, Model Magic is a wonderful choice as Huongstar mentioned. A more sturdy material like Sculpy works as well but be sure to hollow the inside for weight. Another friend of mine made hers out of foam, to give you an idea.

I personally love mine because of the shape (they're bigger than the official Japanese ones and have more definition) and accurate hard plastic material. We're probably going to make a series of them and sell them on ebay. If you're interested in a pair, e-mail me at yaya@angelicstar.net for pricing, or respond to this post.
You can see what they look like here:
