Question Cosplay sewing patterns

So I finally have a sewing machine. So now I can make my costume for the Baltimore Comic con in November (never too early). this is my first time making a costume by scratch so I'm finding issues in finding patterns. I'm planning on going as Lavi from D. Gray Man. If anyone has a Lavi pattern, can you please post where you found it? And if you dont know who Lavi is, here's some refrence pics if you want to help. Thank you guys!

I don't think there would be a "Lavi pattern", but you may want to look for a pattern that resembles his jacket and modify the pattern - a pattern for that would be fairly easy to find. Go into your local fabric store and look through their pattern books, or show the reference pictures to a staff member, they'll be able to help you out!

I doubt you will find character specific patterns anywhere for cosplay, sorries. You will have to find something similar and mod. from that.

You could make the pattern yourself taking your measures. Or using a similar jacket pattern you can found in a magazine or the internet. You can also take a jacket you have, put it inside out and copy each section, and you obtain a new jacket pattern.

You might want to read through the D.Gray-Man forums and see if there's more specific help there. I know a lot of people have asked about Lavi's uniforms there in the past. I would tell you the pattern I used, but I did his third uniform, not that one.

Like what everyone stated so far, there isn't no such thing as a pattern that would fit too closely to any cosplay. You'll learn to improvise a lot and be creative when you sew. : ) Good luck! I say go to the forum of D.Gray Man and go find a jacket pattern that is similar to Lavi's jacket. : D
