Dead Space 2 Patrol Armor Advise

So I've decided to do a Patrol Suit from Dead Space 2 for Kumoricon this year.
Here's a few good examples: <helmet that I'm going for.

Anyway, I'm going to try the Pepakura papercraft method using heavy weight cardstock for the majority of the armor. And I'm thinking for the majority of the vest, mainly the around the waist and partially up the back using a quilt method to duplicate the texture easier. Thinking of using batting foam and still need to think of a good inner and outer layers.

As of the moment all I have are several of the pepakura files, mostly the leg pieces and one of the shoulder pieces. So in the downtime while I'm trying to find the other ones (and trust me, finding the Gabe Weller variation has caused quite a bit of screaming, may end up having to get creative) I'm looking for any advise or help from the community. Mostly our armor smiths.

Also, glad to finally join the forums. Hope to get some good advise and meet some nice people

you'll notice a lot of people, such as people on the 405th are starting to scratch build which is bad news for those of us looking for the pep files. Which is what you may have to do. I see a lot of people scratch building using cardboard and hot glue for their base before going over it with either lots of primer or even using a rotational casting resin. I know you posted this original post a long time ago but I try and help anyone I can. Best of luck to you
