Maybe a denim or a light weight canvas? You could always go for cotton, but since she wears a uniform I would go for a uniform/suiting material.

A heavy poly-cotton blend, suiting material. Denim is almost perfect, so long as you can find it in her shade of blue.

are you gonna make a halconnen cannon as well? That's something I could give pointers on.

I've done Seras and wouldn't recommend denim. I used Egyptian cotton (a little expensive (3.99 a yard, I think)) and it was perfect. It was a nice shade, thick enough to not need lining, light enough to be comfy, and had a tiny bit of stretch. I always favor cottons for costuming, though.

when I eventually make my costume I want to make it out of a material that would stand up to lots of wear, I am prepaired to pay a little more but its just that I plan on getting A LOT of use out of it. So far I have no idea of what material I am going to use O_o I wanna make a cannon too heheh

I'm making two Seras uniforms (only one for myself) and I'm going to use a stretch cotton twill. That will allow it to be more form fitting without binding! The problem with denim is that part of the fibers aren't dyed, and when you wash the costume enough times, it will start to get that faded look at the seams like your jeans do. I'm figuring about $8 a yard for the fabric, but that's really not that bad for good fabric. I think I've already found the perfect buttons for the outfits!
