So. I have been dying for years to cosplay, but never had the courage. I've lost 27kiloes last year, although I have about 50 more to go over the next two years - and I need a confidence boost by proving to myself that I [i]can[i]. (and yes,I know that's a lot of weight, I am obese, but working on it.)

I have been out of the loop on anime/manga for awhile too,but of the few I have seen I only have two or three suggestions, and all are really expensieve.

I don't want to cosplay cute, skinny chara's, I'll fail miserably at that - obviously. I don't mind crossplaying, dyeing my hair. I need to wear glasses all the time, though, but for shots, I can of course remove them.

I am:
165cm ( 5'4''?)
135kg (as I said, working on that)
Brownred dyed hair with aftergrowth
glasses
hourglass-shape
brown eyes
big boobs,big butt



Cosplays I've considered:
Hercule Poirot (need baldcap and suit. suits are expensieve)
Faceless from Spirited away
Zeniba/Yubaba from Spirited away
Shonen Batto from Paranoia Agent

..and that's basically it.

i heard of something called Real Drive that has a few at least real normal size or a tab bigger, if you wana look it up? though i dont know much about it im sorry

Hi, I don't have a specific character, but advice. Hope that's okay too.
The thing is to know your limits and to dress within them, and if you're asking you probably know that too.
Crossplay is probably not such a great option at the moment.
Just wear something flattering. It shouldn't cut you at your widest part, don't know where that is obviously.^^°
It's usually flattering when clothing cuts you under your bust, that's usually slim and shows your hourglass shape. Characters like Matsumoto Rangiku, Stocking Anarchy and Tsunade have flattering outfits like that, for example. It's often also good to show some cleavage, that's one of the good aspects of your figure. x3 (I can't do that, for example.^^°)
Traditional japanese clothes are also usually flattering for everyone, like Kikyou from Inu Yasha.
Or something with a corset, like Tomoe Mami from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Long skirts or coats also usually look good, like Lulu from Final Fantasy or Madame Red.
You can also make an original design, like a Pokémon gijinka, that can be really cool and individual!
And you can always wear a corset under your costume!

First of all, I want to say great job on your weight loss so far (27 is a LOT for such a short time!) and good luck for the future! You can do it! Just don't go crazy and do it in a healthy way! ^^

Personally, I love your considerations, they're all great characters (though I don't know about Paranoia Agent, never seen it). I also second the advice from LluviaSarcasm, traditional japanese clothing is very flattering, so you have a lot to choose from there! Also, you can basically go for any busty characters you want and show off your assets! A good bra will make the best of it~ I might be skinny, but I could never, ever pull of Matsumoto Rangiku (*sniff* I would love to, she's so awesome..). So think of all those characters that a skinny stick like me never could do!
