Next Gen Onomatopoeia

Hi there everyone, first off I hope I am putting this in the right area.
This is my first cosplay outfit and this year will be the first time I go to con..

Now that that is out of the way, The outfit will be an original but based off a few ideas.

I am so enthralled with the character and personality of Onomatopoeia, but I wanted to make him more futuristic and perhaps even cyborg-ish.

Right now I only have PDO files and sketches and ideas so I will post those for the time being.
(sadly all my Illustrator work was lost last night in a power outting)

These files were not made by me and were found posting by another member of the RPF
(screen shots were taken with the snipping tool)

Hands

Abs front and back

Neck front and back (minus three objects in front)

I plan to make all of this out of 2mm craft foam so that it stays light and will have some mobility to it. everything will be painted black and i will attach it to a black body suit, most likely zentai since they are easy to come by and affordable.

Tomorrow I will hop back on Illustrator and redo all of my work for the helmet.
Until then here is the picture of the helmet I will be starting with.

Helmet is designed by and bought from a member 'Diegator' off theRPF site based on Grey Fox from the Metal Gear series.

I will be modifying the helmet so it "won't" have any eye holes.
Pictures tomorrow.

My biggest concern with everything is staying relatively cool.
I might try to slip a couple small PC fans into the design since I have too many to know what to do with. (the back of the neck piece being the easiest and perhaps best place to put one.)

You might be surprised, but straight 2mm craft foam builds, especially with the armor bits shown in 3d will be pretty cool, especially with only a zentai underneath. If you had a LOT more surface coverage of your body, AND the foam was either doubled (glued) or covered (fabric/worbla) then I'd be concerned about heat issues but as it is, especially indoors (~73 degrees) you'll probably be freezing unless you're running. A lot. :P (and even then, any breeze will be freezing-feeling at that point ahahaah)

That's from my own experience - I've worn much higher coverage (and plenty with similar coverage) and haven't found too much of a temp difference until the aforementioned factors were met. I hope that helps, as it may save you some money, though by all means if you get hot easily don't be afraid to have the fans handy. You can always turn them off, anyway.

Looks awesome in general. Will you be keeping the cape in the design? (That might help you keep warm if it's more than just broadcloth)

He wears a trench coat, not a cape, but no I am gunna come up with something special for that.

Also my comfort range is in the 50s.

In regards to my concerns with heat, the biggest deal is a full head helmet with no eye holes is bound to get plenty warm. I am even going to cut my hair, which sucks because I have perfect Loki hair right now. Lol

I think I envy you. I work out in an insulated garage that has been hanging around 30-50 all winter and on top of my regular clothes I wear coveralls and a light jacket (have to have my arms unfettered to work) 'cause I get so cold out there. o:

Too right, there.

Well I bought the nerf sniper rifle ( I know, I know, people are getting tired of nerf guns, but it was on sale and fits the build)

Here it is yesterday before I started...

and yesterday after i put it all back together..

Note: It doesn't fire now, which should appease kumoricon's projectile props rule

So, would you like to have a composite sketch drawn for this; one showing the entire ensemble together on a figure? Kinda like THESE...
This sounds like it'd be fun to render - Let me know - Thanks!!

So, I took a base CAD outline the creator had of the helmet and went over it in Illustrator.
Here is my desired paint scheme as well as the lack of eye slots..

I really like how you constructed all the pieces. Very well done, I can't wait to see it. :,
