High collar

I'm making my own pattern, for the first time. I'm going to be Frau from 07 Ghost. And I have to make the exact same costume only as Labrador, for a friend (-o-)

And I can't make a freaking high/standing collar that wont bulge inwards, or have huge ugly wrinkles. I can post pictures of my pattern, if it'll help, or make a difference?

Oh, and I have no idea how to sew the white part onto the collar. Last I tried, I painted in on, but it doesn't look good.

I commissioned a corset with an ungodly tall collar and the seamstress used corset boning in it to keep it up. It never wrinkles or falls down.

As far as the white goes, a reference picture and then a picture of what you've got done might help get you some answers.

I recently did Frau's costume myself actually: http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3150360/

And the way my collar is cut looks like this: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q.../NewCanvas.png

The interfacing I used was a piece of scrap vinyl but the collar attaches and detaches via velcro tabs (where I drew the x's) Not the best way to do a collar, but I made the coat before I got my wig and I wasn't sure if it was going to touch my wig or whatnot so I wanted to make the position of the collar adjustable. Those tabs keep it popped up nicely too.

You can use Rigid Ribbon. This comes in straps so you can sow it into the seam, so i wont show. i've used this in the collar of my cape (which kept falling down) and in the rim and centerseam of the hood as well. This stuff works great and it's easy to use.
