Sekirei Jacket?
So I'll start off by apologizing if I've posted this in the wrong section.
I plan on doing Homura/Kagari for Otakon 2012 and I need his jacket. While I "can" purchase one of the mass produced ones, I'd rather make my own. I have NEVER made anything more than pillows (and that was a few years ago) regarding fabric. Reference Pic: [IMG {500}x{500}]http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/homura-kagari_9733.jpg[/IMG] Also, I have someone doing Tsukiumi and need advice on her jacket: Reference Pic: ![]() And last but not least, I need to make the Disciplinary Squad Jacket/Cape. Reference Pic: ![]() For the first two, I've considered Leather, but as it'll be Summer and MD likes to have weather issues and not stay a stable temp (Usually gets hot as hell here) I'd like someone who's been making their own costumes to give some input. Also, I'm sure Leather will probably be a bit more expensive than other materials. For the jacket/cape, I really haven't started planning that, but I would assume some type of wool/cotton mix. I need materials that will be durable because these are meant to be "more than once" cosplays for a couple conventions so...Any input would be great! Thanks, -Crow EDIT: Sorry for the third pic being so big...Can't figure out the BBCode resize command... Last edited by CrowX2M : 02-18-2012 at 10:12 AM. |

It looks like a long sleeved Haori which would not be made out of leather. A stiff material (which like canvis (sp?) wouldn't carry so much heat). How they wear it and the sleeve on the raised arm second chic from the left looks.

Only the one with the grey jackets show hms. The second image doesn't show so I really don't know what I am looking for as for the guys jacket first picture I would go with a standard trench jacket with a stand up collar. Of course fold as needed. Sorry only have a dollfie jacket pattern for that. If you want it though I can link ya.
I would combine this with a trench pattern. The collar is high so I would only avoid doing the top part of the collar http://i46.tinypic.com/j6hbgk.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/x43kll.jpg Note the orange box only use that part of the collar. http://twilightarms.com/dolls/patter...ead_duster.htm If you want to try. Good luck

Chimura the patterns I linked above. You might want to make a test of the outfit before building. I find klennexes are great for test patterns, that and rest room paper. >><< Just get some clear tape and there you go.
Dolfie-BJD-Ball Jointed Doll ::thumbs to icon:: L there.

For the busty girl there, this jacket pattern is a good starting point, even the sleeves are right.
