My school will be holding a cosplay event in the National Day weekend of October 1 and 2.

I guess you'll see promotions sooner or later about that.

Nice!! Is it the HKU thing? I really want to go but I'm just too shy... maybe we can meet up? I can't speak chinese and I don't understand anything... And I really want to meet more experienced cosplayers so I can ask for makeup advice and where I should buy things

Was at City University. It just passed (my pictures are up...under Assassin's Creed in my gallery).

Would love to give you some advice on where to buy things though I do like to know good places to buy props too

I know I'm extremely late in entering this conversation. I'll be visiting HK in a month and am wondering if there are any university cosplay events/mini meetups I can attend. I, like the other girl, don't know much cantonese (if at all- I'm from the US). I'd also like to gain a tiny bit of knowledge about universities in HK while I'm visiting. Any response is appreciated!

I think the next university event is in University of Science and Technology which isn't helpful for you at all as the event is sometime in July.

I'm not sure what other cosplay events there are between May and June. This is mainly the exam period for many cosplayers and there's not much events going on at this time. If I find out any events though I'll keep you posted if I find any events.
