I'm curious as what people on cosplay.com do for a living to pay for their costumes.

I'm currently doing temp work. I drive cars for an auto auction. But it's only one day a week.

I'm my sister's baby-sitter though I need to get a real job soon cause I don't get paid much and I am now getting less days. Darn fabrics gotta be so pricey /:P

I finished university last September and I haven't been able to find a job. I've been thinking of just going back into education simply so I'm not a NEET.

Costumes are paid for by money from gifts (Christmas/Birthdays/etc) or doing odd jobs (I charge less than most for computer repair), which is one of the reasons it tends to go pretty slowly (the fact I don't have £enough to get a sewing machine doesn't help).

You're a 4th grade teacher!!! I was a teacher's assistant for a 2nd grade teacher when I was a senior in high school! I miss it soooo much. :')

My official title is senior programmer.

My non official tasks go from programming, to customer support, to onsite analysis, passing by systems architecture as well as some project management.

It's a full time job I'm lucky enough allows for some flexible schedule and allows me to work only 4 days a week.

I only got into cosplay once my studies were done, my living situation was taken care of, my financial situation was secure. Then I had both the means to go to conventions and the resources to make it happen.

This is my 3rd year teaching, 1st year in 4th grade. I did 5th grade the previous two years. There are rough times, but there are also many good times to outweigh the rough.

Wow that's cool! Yes I do agree about the rough times but I like to remember the great times! ^_^

Lab assistant. I get to test the mineral levels (and more) in soils, waters, and plants. Basically, I get paid to play with acid and mud. :3

Jewelry stores? What kind of jewelry do you make/sell/something?

Fine and casual/silver-based jewellery. I know karats, cuts, chain types, gold, silver, hallmarks, diamonds, gemstones, and so forth for selling it (as in, I can describe/identify a "Marquis-cut 14 karat mystic topaz ring" and a "20 inch sterling figaro men's chain" and the like). I'm going to be making my own fine jewellery eventually (on a bigass waiting list for a local silversmithing and lapidary course), but for now I sell and at one of my old jobs occasionally repaired it (it was mostly beaded jewellery, regluing stones or small adjustments then. No smithwork).

Right now, I work part time at Galaxy Theatre AKA Cineplex Theatre Company, its a huge movie theatre company up in Canada.
