Carrying your stuff at cons

How do you carry your things at Cons? Fortunately, most of my cosplays look great with a bag (Ex: for the Hobbit I had a traveling pouch), but what do you do when wearing a backpack/messenger will totally ruin the look of your cosplay, or you can't even get one on at all?

I carry all of my belongings inside someone else's body cavities.

Your bag doesn't have to match your cosplay. You'll be putting it aside for pictures, so what's it matter?

But what if you're wearing heavy armor, or your costume has spiked shoulders? How do you carry a bag then? Do you use a lot of hidden pockets?

@Ticticktok. That is amazing!!! Love that shirt!!

Try sewing pockets into your cosplay or making a bag that the character could wear. (:

Slip it down your pants? Swallow it in a baggy?

Personally, when I'm on the con floor, I carry about 5 things:

1. Wallet (need $$$ for dealer's room/artist's alley)
2. Camera, because my iPhone's camera is crap imo.
3. 2-3 bottles of water.
4. Pen and paper for notes
5. A towel. One of the most useful things a hitchhiker can have.*

Since I...or my girlfriend...do all of our sewing, I simply plan some large-ish pockets on the inside of the outfit. They have to be in convenient places so your stuff doesn't bulge your outfit or fall out from moving around, and the better you can hide them from sight, the better they are imo. It's EASIEST with characters wearing some form of overcoat or jacket, and some have pockets in the outside as well...but I'm sure I can do it with others with enough thought.

*It's Mar. 11, Douglas Adams is 61 today. I had to reference the Guide somewhere today.

I volunteer to carry heavy stuff for other people? Otherwise I have a backpack if I really need to carry stuff around. It's a military backpack so it semi-goes with half my cosplays.

If I'm bringing stuff to get signed by a guest, I generally bring a messenger bag (depending on size of the item). Otherwise, I've just been using a small personal bag recently. I just put it aside for photos.

I just use a backpack and force my friends to hold it when I need to pose for a photo.
This year I do plan on buying a matching bag for one of my cosplays if I have enough money leftover though.

My friends and I just take turns carrying our bag(s) and put it/them down for pictures. If we start buying stuff at the Dealers Room or Artist Gallery we take it back to our hotel.
