...ever crossplayed Sakura from CCS? If so, could you give me some ideas for a male making this outfit? Thanks

I have no idea if somebody has done it before, but that shouldn't stop you.

There are a few things in your favour on that costume: very limited boobage, and short pants under the skirt.

What I'd do is to build it with two or three commercial patterns. Go to a good fabric store and check their pattern catalogs looking for something with a similar shape to the shorts, the dress/skirt and the cape.

The biggest labour will be to sew all that gold trim, but when you get to that point most of the costume will be ready by then.

Glove making is tricky. See if you can find them done at a bridal store. You'd save some trouble that way.

Also, if your sewing skills are limited I'd hire someone or start with something simpler.

Ok, thanks! I've got someone who can sew the outfit for me... I just gotta get the nerve to tell my mom that I'm going to crossplay. (I have no idea what she will say, knowing her...)

This wasn't really a planned costume. I got the short brown wig for Yuffie and figured out one day that I had a Sakura costume with using that wig, roller blades, and some of my CCS toys =3 Originally, I wasn't going to take her to a con, but she made it to AnimeUSA in 2002 =3

I'd look for a hat of similar size and shape and sew/hot glue the pink fabric on top.

card captor will has also done a sakura outfit as well. granted isnt that dress and sakura hasa like a million dresses but if ya wanna do that outfit go forit ^_~

If you need costume tips, go to the anime costumes forum. ^_^; Crossplay forum is for making yourself more feminine or masculine depending on the crossplay. For Sakura, you don't need to stuff yourself because she's a flat ten year old, so there's not too much to worry about except for makeup.
