Hi! I've never been either, but I'm going to ComicCon in October, and have done a bit of research. I'm cosplaying as Remilia Scarlet BTW!
*~Do they do skits there? Some people Do! I know I will for the masquerade! *~Do you need a mask/face paint? Only if your character wears it. *~Dose it cost money? I'm not sure. I know at ComicCon, it's first come, first serve, and free. *~What time/day is it occur? This depends on the con *~Do you dance there? Some people dance instead of a skit ^_^ Hope this was helpful! |

Masquerades are typically where you perform a skit (sketch) or dance (typically not recommended for quality issues in the past) in your cosplay. There are also walk ons, which is where you don't do anything other than do a few in-character poses before leaving the stage. Unless your cosplay calls for it, then no, masks/face paint are not required. More often than not, they don't cost you anything outside of pre-registering early enough to get a spot. I believe that Masquerade is held on the first day, but varies between cons. Check the official con website/forums for the exact time and dates.
If you need ideas for a skit/dance/poses, then YouTube has a lot of awesome skits- go for the ones with about 1000+ views for good, great, and award winning skits, then anything under that for decent, bad, and horrible skits that you want to avoid.

Cons do cost money and they normally cost $20-25, and sometimes $30 a day, depending on what's going on. But If you were to go to AX (Anime Expo) in Los Angeles, the four day pass is $100 dollars for all four days. Although, some cons are free. During the summer there's a con in Anaheim that's free and it's the same time as AX. Cons usually last all day, but if it's a small convention like Anime L.A., the events are closed or finished early like around 4 or 3.
Btw, i hope to see u at comic-con. I may be Italy as well. |
