Raw milk. In my state it's illegal to sell raw milk without putting "For animals" on the container. I drink raw milk anyway. Raw milk has lots of protein and good "fats" that help energize and burn bad fat. it also keeps you full longer. Raw milk is unprocessed milk that is easiest to get from a local farmer, it's much healthier for you than the kind of milk sold at grocery stores.

However I have read that its more likely to get food poisoning from raw milk. I've looked it up. But I will agree with you, there's no hormones and antibiotics.

Raw milk is not pasteurized, therefore bacteria hasn't been killed. The CDC and FDA recommend against it... so I'm gonna go with them.
BTW, the nutritional profile of milk doesn't change by processing it. The protein/carb/fat ratio stays the same.

Anything unapproved by the FDA is most likely hazardous to your health,
and I learned from grade school that drinking unprocessed milk can lead to sickness. Bottom line...don't risk drinking that...

I agree, raw milk probably has things that you don't get from processed milk. And if you drink your raw milk from a cow that is not treated with rBST and hormones, then by all means go with it, if you're used to it, then more power to you ^^
Unfortunately, many cows are treated with rBST and other hormones that will affect the cow and in turn you, which is why people who drink processed milk gain growth spurts and feel pain in their bones and joints because of the hormones that they treat cows with. I wouldn't want to drink raw unprocessed milk from that kind of cow, but seeing that it works for you I'm envious I can't get a hold of that kind of milk. |
