AFIAK these links are not yet public knowledge, so hurry to buy your parking passes before the crowds!

A friend of mine discovered these pages to buy SDCC parking passes this morning. They seem to be legit. Notice that the dates say 2012, even though the red lettering says 2011. I'm guessing they're not quite ready to have the link 'go live' but it is working. I bought passes already.

The top if the page says 2011, but if you look the dates on the passes are 2012.

I'm still bothered that SDCC nor Ace has said anything about parking being available yet. I'm glad you guys were able to get your parking passes though. =^^=

EDIT: I asked Ace parking about it and they said that it's for last years' event - and isn't supposed to be open to the public yet (except for specific vendors that has instructions on how to purchase parking). I hope the passes still count for you guys.

We strongly recommend to not listen to other facebook fans or rumors that parking is on sale. You will hear an official announcement via this Facebook page and our Twitter Account (@aceparking) when online parking purchasing is live. We are sorry if you followed the link, posted by another Facebook fan and purchased your parking through last year's page. If this did happen to you, please private message us. We are waiting for direction from The Permit Store as to whether or not these transactions went through and/or whether or not they will be honored. Again, we stress, do not purchase parking through ANY site until we formally announce that it is available to the public.

Interesting... but if the link was 'open' for vendors and the CC information was processed, how are they going to tell who is who?

They have to know that people are checking these links every day to see if they're active yet.

FWIW, I bought passes 2 weeks ago when I first started this thread. The cc charges went through and I have not been notified of any problem. I wonder if they're asking people to 'out themselves' when they're asking those people to contact them.

Did you check your emails? Mine got 404'd so I'm not sure if they are now valid. I wouldn't mind if I got refunded and tried again, but I'm still open for them to just honor those passes that were bought.

This exact same thing happened last year: the site went up before the 'official' announcement and everyone just started buying passes. In fact, I found out about it here, which is why I wanted to 'pay it forward' and post when I learned about it for this year.

Last year when the site was leaked, CCI just opened up the parking to everyone as soon as they discovered what was happening. Not sure why they can't just do that now... unless these people who got the 'emails' are somehow bigwigs who need to be 'guaranteed' parking.

UPDATE: We have confirmed that for those of you who purchased through the old site while it was up briefly, WILL BE HONORED! We just wanted to make sure they were legit, (not through a hacker) and were transacted through our partner site before we officially gave the word! We wanted to make sure you could use those passes on the day of the event. Again, we apologize for any confusion this may have caused. For those of you who purchased passes and were having trouble clicking on the link in your confirmation email, that link should now be live again for you in case you need to view your receipt. Also, to answer many questions of why we wanted you to Private Message us or why we wanted to know exactly who, is because we wanted to make sure if we had to reach out individually, we were able to, but we were able to parse a list from The Permit Store so no need to PM us!
