Cosplays for Newbies!
Okay, so my sister and my other friend decided to check out an anime convention for the first time ever! We are planning on attending a 3 day con called Anime North in Toronto, Canada. They are not really anime people but they want to see what a con is like and want to get the whole con experience, including having a costume.
Only problem is, we are not sure what they sould cosplay as. We are looking to make something extermely cheap, like costumes that can be made by finding stuff at a local store. Since this is their first time, and probably last time going to one, they want to have something cheap but creative to wear and/or character to be! They are up for cosplaying as pretty much anything, except for stuff that like exposes themselves too much like a bikini, maid, or school girl costumes or stuff like that. An idea we are doing is myself as mario, my sister [Kaylee and/or Kay] as luigi and my friend [Sam] as yoshi. I attached some pics of them to the bottom so there are some pics of what they look like for references. Thanks for reading!~

Princess Peach and Princess Daisy from Mario >
Or you both could go as your favorite Disney Princesses they always do really well at cosplay conventions. |

You could always rock the Harry Potter look. (although now that I think of it I'm not so sure how cheap that is, unless you have someone who can sew black robes). Also schoolgirl outfits are usually easy to put together (white shirt, specific tie) The only thing that might be difficult is getting the matching skirts. :P Those are my suggestions, the other easy one's I'd be thinking of would involve purchasing a wig which wouldn't be as cheap.
I look forwards to seeing you at AN! PS: I've convinced some friends of mine to go before as well, and they wound up coming back every year. They may not like anime as much as other people ate the con, but they love the atmosphere and memories that we get every year we go. |
