[Young Blood]

Well... I'm needing of some help.
I'm trying to put three costumes together for Otakon this July.
InuYasha, Sesshoumaru, and Kagome/Kikyou.

I don't have enough money to actually go out and buy the costumes somewhere, but I believe I can afford fabrics for the InuYasha and Kagome/Kikyou.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can find patterns for the InuYasha and Kagome costumes? Or any instructions of their own? This is my first time making kimono type costumes, so I'm a little lost.

For my Inuyasha costume, I looked through the pattern books at JoAnn Fabrics and found a kimono-style top. Along with that pattern came a pattern for some kinda "genie-style" pants. They were really poofy too ^_^

I ended up using both of those, just altering the sleeves so they would flare out at the end. Plus the slits at the shoulders, and the lacing on the ends of the sleeves. Then just cut out the holes at the waist in the pants so it was similar to Inu's hakama.

yeah i got my fabric at Joan fabrics too, but a tip for youis to use thick fabric, because thin fabric will end up looking bad and easily ripping

Well. I don't want HEAVY fabric, cause then it won't puff out at the legs.
But it won't be ultra thin fabric. That would get annoying.

I'll use your advice when I get to making the costumes. If you have any more advice, I'll be happy to hear... err... see it. ^_^

Well I made a kikyo outfit I just bought 2 pattens 1 for a kimono style top and hakama pants which I found both suprisingly at joann's. and I just followed that...and yes for kikyo def. dont get thick fabric...for the top though get a little thick but make sure it isnt see through..unlike mine -_-; pants u might want to get a little thick fabric if u wanna wear it when its cold out..(I learned that the hard way..haha ^_^) well..hope that helps..a little haha ^_^
