Make sure you're using the correct cleansers for your skin, there are some which are too harsh which will only make it worse. Go to a dermatologist and don't be lazy with the medicine/lotion/whatever they prescribe you because most of the time - it works!! My brother had quite bad facial acne/frontne/bacne and had to go on Roaccutane twice, but it seriously worked and cleared up his skin =D I use the previously mentioned Clearasil and it keeps my skin perfectly clear. Neutrogena is quite good as well. Clinique bodywash worked for me as well, especially when it came to make up as well.

Agreed - consistency is key. I notice if I skip a couple nights in a row.

Yeah I'd recommend making sure you wash your bedsheets regularly too. (every 1-2 weeks). Same thing goes for your pyjamas! You could try switching your pyjama top every few days for a clean one. I also find washing my back in the shower without soap helps as I tend to get big painful lumpy ones that are easily irritated by soaps and stuff, so at the end of my shower (incase I have traces of conditioner or anything on my back) I just jently wash my back with my hand. Simple. No soap/exfoliator or flannel. I also take the pill which probably helps too. If you have bad breakouts especially if you get them on your body seeing a doctor can be great and also a big relief. If your 16-17, then these are meant to be the years where you're more prone to getting acne/worse acne apparently. I can tell, my acne is way worse than when I was 15 and I'm 17 now.
If you have regular spots on your back using a product to gently exfoliate/dry them out is probably best. But if you have painful ones I wouldn't recommend treating them harshly, instead try and prevent new ones by washing regularly, but with gentle products. Hope this helps ![]() |
