Need help with Trigun Kitty Costume

I'm trying to make a Trigun Kitty Costume for my friend for Otakon. I figured out what I'm going to do for the body. I just don't know how I'm going to do the head. So if anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it!
cosplay's in process:
Otakon 2005:
Friday: chun Li
Saturday: undecided
Sunday: Neko-jin

*thinks* I belive that there are a few patterns out there that cover mascot costumes. (Big headded animals.) Simplicity is coming to mind, might want to check out a pattern book.

I know when I worked as a dancer in a theme park they made theirs out of a combination of chicken wire, some sort of thin plaster and fur over it. But I had to wear one that was 30lbs, so I don't know how much I'd reccomend that one....

Beyond that, try one of these, you can possible adapt one of them. HTH!
We all have a choice in life. I chose to be the Mad Otaku Baker.

A simple thing comes to mind, you could just paint black whistkers on her(or his) face and find black cat ears on a headband.
