Well the deals are 30% to 50% the retail price of all these brands and no taxes (ay in cash) or shipping. This is why I go every year it as cheap as your going to get.

Their is also 4 companies that carry Ben Nye, Mehron, and Kryolan as well.

Also if you a makeup artist you get pro-discount as well to attend.

Then also have full day makeup presentations that go through the stepts you can learn from the pro's.
Saturday or Sunday tickets go for $30 or $50 for the full weekend.

Every year I look at going, but I haven't since I doubt that what I save on makeup would be worth the price of admission (I have a rather short shopping list). Maybe this year, if I can find some friends to go with.

I'm thinking of going one day... NYX discounts look good... and does anyone know if the MAC Pro has any.. regulations? like needing a Pro card or anything?

NYX is either 40% or 50%. The line for it is HUGE every year. lol

Nope you don't need any Pro qualifications to buy, which is good. You basically go there to get Pro discounts for the day as it's a open to public trade show.

MAC Pro cards give you 20% off and so is the show rates.

50% off NYX sounds great... especially if they offer some of the items I can't find in store here and usually have to pay not only full price but a shit load of shipping for online! XP I don't mind waiting in line after usually waiting 4 weeks for shipping!

Does MAC usually sell their brushes there? I have wanted to buy some eyeshadow brushes from them for years but never could afford them, and now I feel I could afford a few at a discount

Which single day is better to go? Saturday is longer by a good 5 hours, but is it SO much busier that you'd actually see less?

How to APPLY within North America
To enroll provide:

A completed M·A·C PRO Membership Application
Select only one Category/ Profession. Your choice will determine what level of discount you will receive. Makeup Artists receive 40% and all other categories receive 30%. You will have to prove your selection by providing two accepted pieces of professional criteria that indicate your chosen profession.

Categories are: Makeup Artist, Aesthetician, Cosmetologist, Performers/On-Air Talent, Fashion Stylist/Costume Designer, Photographer, Model, Hairstylist, and Nail Technician.

I know at the LA one it was an active booth and you didn't need a membership (youtube xP)... but then again its LA... i dunno, ive never been...

It was previous years it was just a booth for sign up but they smartened up last year and from now on their both carries all their shadows and the Pro only items for sale (so not the full line of brushes). I picked up a pigment last year and this year I'm picking up some chromaline gel pots (their Black Black shade has SOOO much product in it!)

At IMATS they ask for no pro id's as it's an open to public show (Unlike the Makeup Show) all the booths are offering their pro discounts.

NARS is the only exception... yes they suck that way. lol



Also because it seems I'll be having to go by public transit this year (My friend doesn't want to go but I NEED body paint stuff lol) what the fastest way to get there from Union and back. I'd be arriving in Toronto by 8:15AM (which means I need to get up by 5:45am blah!)



Saturday is the busiest day but there is also full stock of product for the shopping which is why I go on the Saturday. I get to every booth during the day I just go to the popular ones first like Makeup for Ever and NYX if their is something I really need to get from them. It's basically crowed around the Makeup for Ever, NYX, Crown and Royal brush.

It also helps to make a wish list before going but you can get everything in 4 hours time for sure.
