Will there be a 'new PM alert' similar to the 'new comments' alert in the final site revamp?

 If I don't know I'll get a PM, I don't check my PMs and then it's possible to not notice one for a long time

There is an option for email notifications for PMs in the settings. "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages" just check the box. (While looking for this exact setting, I just saw that mine was unchecked for some reason, even though I have always had it checked, and I've been getting email notifications just fine? Confused.)
There's also been an option for you to have a pop-up notification when you receive a new PM while you're on the site, which since the overhaul, has not been working. I'm hoping that will be fixed soon. |

I haven't been getting any pop-ups either.
Also, the email notifications aren't a good solution for someone (like me) who can access Cosplay.com at work, but not my personal email. I found it tremendously helpful to see my 'inbox' highlighted when there was something new to see there, and I miss that feature. I'm hopeful that the final site revamp will offer something similar. |

I've gotten the pop-ups right after I logged in and while I was currently logged in. I think I've only had 3 or 4 since the site change. I haven't had any new messages that didn't create a pop up. But I agree - it would be nice to have the unread message notification also displayed on the front page by your account like it used to be.

speaking of PMing....does anyone else have an actual problem PMing people?
when i go on a persons profile, theres NO "PM so and so" button.. so how the heck are people PMing me when it doesnt show up?

I use FireFox and that's how I can send PMs. Just click your name (like prior) and the drop down menu shows:
