-Not getting hit on (well...by creepy guys at least haha) -Getting to pretend to be a boy (which is always fun :P) -Getting to live life a little differently than normal -Get to walk in the shoes of the opposite gender On the downside: -The outfits can get bulky, which can be a problem (such as overheating, being too heavy, etc...) -You would still look like a girl if you have to alter the costume to fit you (especially if you are really petite, it's hard to look like a guy) -Some girls have to bind (I have heard it is awful sometimes...luckily I don't have a large chest so I don't have to bind) -Fangirls (at least the crazy ones haha) Men crossplaying has a lot of pros and cons as well: Pros are pretty much the same as girls, except they just won't have crazy fangirls instead of creepy guys hitting on them....though they may get the creepy guys hitting on them haha. But just like binding...guys might have to tuck...which I have heard can get pretty painful D: But anyway, I really hope you have fun crossplaying! It's definitely something that I would say is worth experiencing, even if it ends up just being for one time only.

I don't know if it counts as being "taken seriously" but some of my favorite cosplays are men crossplaying as Gunner Yuna. <3

There were a few crossplayers at Nakakon in KS. But maybe potential male crossplayers simply need a breakout show in order to produce greater numbers of crossplayers. Like Hetalia, but instead of feminized male characters, they would have to be masculine female characters.

And how thick is your facial hair? I mean it grows back, so if it is something you REALLY REALLY want to do badly, maybe just try it once and shave your face for it It might not be something you really want to do, but maybe just having the experience once will kick that urge from you so you never have to shave your facial hair again :P

Just PLEASE do not wear one of those nightmare-fuel masks like the fetish videos you see on YouTube. Pllleeeeaaassse.

Oh my gosh...you should do a female Power Ranger...that'd be so cool D: !!!!! I'd also suggest make-up, IF FOR SOME REASON YOU EVER WANT TO SHAVE YOUR BEARD FOR LULZ XD. I know it sounds weird to suggest to a guy, but there are masculine make-up tutorials. I've looked one up myself for when I crossplay, and quite frankly it really does make your face look younger and more manly. Just a suggestion though if by some chance part of your beard gets chopped off and you have to shave it and let it re-grow ![]()

I crossplay all the time, and according to the people I've met they can't tell unless I talk. I'm not masculine, I'm quite tiny, and my face is a little androgynous, so crossplaying is perfect for me. I take my crossplaying quite seriously. I read up on how to do make-up, watch make-up tutorials, experiment on tucking, buy bras/inserts (and get strange stares), and anything/everything else in-between.
I know it's been said before, but the good ones are the one that you can't tell unless you inspect VERY closely. The ones that do it because they think it's funny are the ones that you notice first and will always stick to your mind. Oddly enough, I can usually tell the male crossplayers from the way they conduct themselves.

I crossplay a lot, and I've been told it's hard to tell until I speak. When I first started cosplaying, there weren't enough male characters that I could actually pull off because most of them were tall, so I decided I would crossplay girls. I'm not masculine at all, I'm quite tiny, and I have an androgynous face. I also put a lot of work into crossplaying such as learning how to do make-up, looking up make-up tutorials, buying inserts and bras (and getting weird stares), and everything in between.
The good male crossplayers you don't even notice unless you're really up close.

I'm not that good in crossplay I think, though but I'm serious about it. I crossplay Sango from InuYasha the pics are in my profile if anyone wants to take a look. Despite me thinking I look bad, people seriously were fooled into thinking I was female, I've also been called pretty and whatnot. I've met a few serious crossplayers and they're quite awesome. Who cares what people think you know. If you're happy then do what you like.

Because alot of them don't try to look like girls. Most I see try to be men still, just in drag. I myself, I went as Cardcaptor Sakura these last two-three years now. I put effort into it. My face is sadly still a giveaway, but I try. I get no laughs, people actually compliment me.

Because society's a bitch, and MTF crossdressing (on ANY level, even transsexual) has been given a negative connotation due to the cinema's portrayal of MTF crossdressers. . .That, and guys don't (usually) make for good looking girls, so those that don't understand the motives behind it, as well as the individual's situation, fear and hate people that do it seriously. They hate people like me.
I'm a MTF transsexual currently on hormone therapy (HRT). I, "cross" dress on a daily basis, and I take it as seriously as any other girl would. As for crossplayers; yes there are less MTF crossplayers due to the negative connotation attached to the idea (and America's use of the words, "gay & fag" which were born as insults by ignorant people way back when), and the fear of persecution, by peers, family, or other people seeing them. The idea of a boy wearing make up is so far out of so many people's perception of normality, that they think it must be wrong and deserves some kind of harassment or punishment. Funny part is; many major celebrities wear make up (up until a point. One Direction, Justin Bieber, the Jonas Brothers, yeah, they wore make up, hate them for their garbage, but prime examples nonetheless). Many guys wear make up before going out on stage for something, it's just simple fact! Anyway, this issue is very personal for me, so I feel strongly about this. . . Also, if you need anyone to talk to, I'm here, and many others here on this site are willing to listen ^w^ Also, this is me>///< I edited this in Photoshop CS5 to give it its effects, though my face and body themselves haven't been altered. . .same with the next one ^_^;; http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/i/20...eh-d50arfp.png http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/i/20...eh-d52773y.jpg http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/i/20...eh-d51pc3d.jpg |
