Making my helmet....NOT sculpey?

I am SO sorry for such a newb question, but I've been searching tutorials for days and it just left me even more confused.

So one of my cosplays involves me wearing a helmet. It's like a odd mixture between a viking and bicycle helmet. I carved one out of sculpey and actually am as pleased as I can be for something made with my lack of experience! I know that sculpey is awfully fragile and shouldn't be worn on it's own, so I sculpted it with the intent of casting it in...something? There's so much it looks like. Plastic, fiberglass, resin...

So where should I go from here? What is the best for casting a fully-made piece already? I guess the short question is how to make a replica of a clay helmet I have and what to make it WITH?

Thanks in advance to whomever tries to help out. I'll really appreciate it!

EDIT: This needs to be moved to general construction help. :/ I am really sorry.
