Communist Cosplays?

Hey! Just so you know, I'm trying to find a commie-like Cosplay for my Vietnam. Anyone know where I can get one?

I don't think you should. it's a stupid thing to do for Hetalia cosplayers to do Cosplays like that just because it's associated that country like all the stupid Germany cosplayers who do the 'Nazi Germany cosplay.' you may offend some people. i know they're are people who do the soviet Russia cosplay but in a sense that isn't good either. Be a sane Hetalia fan don't do it.

What do you mean, specifically, by "commie-like"?

Are you looking at something like a Mao Suit? If so, so far as I know there are no commercial patterns available but any pattern for a casual, untailored jacket should be easy to alter. The pants are unremarkable straight-leg slacks.

For tips on how to add patch pockets to a jacket, which is the Mao suit's major difference from similar jackets, look here.

...also, "commie" sounds like something from a joke routine. It's okay to say communist again.

Are you trying to be exact, or are you just looking for something that seems right for a Communist character? If you are trying to be exact, it would be easier if we saw an image. If you are looking just to make a Mao-style suit, you want to look for a "Mandarin collar jacket" pattern. There are a few vintage ones and I believe on that is current. Do a quick google search for that, and you'll see a few patterns for sale.

You're probably looking for something like a green Mao suit. Since military-ish fashion has been in style for a while, try looking around for something similar and make the proper alterations.

When you ask for a Nam-Commie Style what are you looking for,

1) VietCong and there Black Jammies

2) North Nam regular Military

3) DemRepulic of Nam (todays Nam) Military or Elected Ruling Class

4) The Man/Women on the street period 1947-presnt

You might want to do some more research before deciding what you would like to cosplay as. If I was you I would try to stay away from doing VietCong just saying.

If that's Vietnam in your avatar, you should know that what she is wearing is a green Ao Dai. You should also do a bit more research on Communist Vietnamese clothing.

i have a really nice soviet alice costume i made myself but its not finished. I lived there for 5 years and I made it for fun not to cause issues. A friend asked me to do it actually. It is a soviet morale officer but its my own design white dress white boots and tights with red stars on the boots a hammer and sickle on my apron and a bust of lenen on the back bow. I also have a white russian hat with the hammer and sickle its not a cossack hat i forgot its name again but its neat anyhow. It was for fun and my muscovite friends liked the idea. I will have pics later when its totally done I am also building a big honking cannon to go with it lol
