Cosplay Rose - Question on the conventions weapons' policy. I was glancing over it and didn't see anything listed on the website (perhaps I overlooked it?), but is there a guideline for it? We have one substantially large prop we'd like to bring and one that's wood, so we were curious if they would be allowed at the convention?

I ask since I'd love to save bring a separate vehicle solely to carry one of the props. ^_-

Hi everyone, my name is Kareem Jackson, I'm one of the other Kin-Yoobi Con Coordinators along with Ms. Rose here. I thought I'd step in and answer a few quick questions for everyone.

Right now it's hard to say, but our projected outcome is 750 unique attendees throughout the entire weekend (meaning not counting the people on Saturday twice for attending Sunday). Our pre-registeration last year was about 30 and we had 400+ in attendance. This year we have 160 pre-registered, so hopefully this gives you more of an idea of what to expect, and of course, we hope to see you there as well =)

If you could describe the prop a bit more in detail that would be great. It seems that this one might be on the fence with our weapons policy, but I'm hoping it's something that we might be able to accept (especially since out of everyone in our staff I'm the one that loves huge props haha)

Kin-Yoobi Con permits and encourages props made of cardboard, papier-mâché, plastic, wood, enamel or other materials so long as they do not break the Kin-Yoobi Con weapons policy or State law. They should be brought to the peace-bonding station for review.

Your wooden weapon is fine for sure. As for the large one, as long as it's not blocking pathways or injuring people, it will be fine. Both will have to be peace bonded.
