I've always thought cosplayers are weird. I STILL think cosplayers are weird, but I don't necessarily consider that term "weird" to be negative. It just means that one is different from the rest. This could mean that they're uncomfortable to be around and all around skeevy, or it could mean that they shine brighter than everyone else in the room.

So yeah. I still think cosplayers are weird. <3

The first people I ever met who were into cosplay were monomaniacal about it and seriously turned me off. I pretty much assumed all cosplayers were like them. I didn't get into costuming until I started going to Renaissance Festivals and realized wearing armor and costumes there was a lot of fun. Evolved into cosplay after I was invited to go with a friend to my first anime con. Now, I can't conceive of going to a convention in plain clothes.

I used to think they were totaly weird....then I got into anime.....now I'm one of them XD (funny how things change huh?) I only got into anime about a year ago, I would have never imagined before then that I would be dressing up like characters and going to conventions, I was happily proven wrong

Well the first time I ever saw them was on the internetz. And they were like fail demotivational posters and stuff lol. So at first I didn't think too highly of it, but then I saw some amazing ones and realized that it's actually really really cool. I never thought it was dumb or anything, I just wasn't aware that there were quality cosplay out there until later lol.

Well.. no, not really.
I think the first time I saw cosplayers (on the internet) I thought "Damn awesome, I want to do that too!", I remember thinking something along those lines. Maybe I've always found cosplayers inspiring because even when young I used to like to pretend I was either some random fictional character or some animal.. lol.

I started cosplaying before you could post high-res pictures on the internet at all, and at the time, we hardly had dial-up to use for school research. I guess it was just in me to dress in costume because it would be some time before I found people who did it outside of Halloween. Costuming was what got me to cons for the first time, so I had no thoughts whatsoever that it was strange.

My reaction to the first cosplayers I ever saw was "I wanna do that ;_; " Sad face because my parents don't like it and don't let me buy costumes, and look at me funny when I make cosplay stuff.

I thought "Hmm, what an interesting hobby." I thought that people just bought their costumes or just used clothes from their closets. It wasn't until I had gone to my first convention and found this site that I realized that there was so much more to it.
