Another - Misaki Mei cosplay

Hello, I am new here and this is my first cosplay I have ever done.

I absolutely fell in love with the anime "Another and decided to dress as Misaki Mei. Since this is my first time cosplaying, I wanted some feedback and tips.

In the pictures, I do not have the wig, shoes, socks, or tie yet.
The vest is a little off, I know. Her vest comes up farther and is more rounded, whereas mine is pointed. In addition, her vest has two rows of gold buttons. Mine did not-- it has black ones down the center---which are still there. I just sewed on more gold buttons...

I bought the skirt from a company who makes school outfits. The shirt, vest, jacket, and shoes(which are not in the picture) I got at goodwill/savers/consignment shops. I made the eye patch.

Anyway-- this is the costume so far.

Thanks for any feedback :x

For a first attempt, it not bad. I'd have done the buttons different, but that is me.
Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs had better get used to it.

I think this really good for a first cosplay!
Just three things:
1.I see that in both she is wearing a red slighlty long bow "tie" thing. Its pretty easy to get it at your local fabric store, just get the right shade of red and a large enough ribbon.
2.As OroroMonroe said, i would have replaced the black buttons with translucent ones,so they arent that visible,as for the gold buttons, they seem accurate.
3.In the Second Reference picture, she has a blue ribbon trim on the arm cutoffs.I reccomend sewing some on,to give the sleeves a more clean cut look to them.

In the End,I think your cosplay is pretty accurate considering it is your first.
Good Luck and happy cosplaying~ <3
