Commissions available (3 years experience and 2 construction awards)
Hi my name is Vincent, also known as Mori Hikari most places on the internet. I love sewing and am looking to take some commissions so I can do what I love.
Examples of work can be found here http://mori-hikari.deviantart.com/gallery/26290278
I have been sewing for 3 years, and while I realize that this is not a long time, sewing is my passion and I am skilled for one of so few years. I also pride myself on remaining in contact and doing what it takes to make the customer happy.
I was studying costume design at Southern Utah University before medical reasons caused me to withdraw. I am currently looking to get back into costume design, but have learned much even without a classroom. I started cosplaying in 2005 but I really donít count my first costume towards experience because I didnít really make it myself. The first costume I made on my own was for a con in my hometown in 2010 and I won best novice construction. The next year I won best veteran construction. I was the only person in the veteran category that had only made one costume beforehand. I was put into veteran because they didnít believe that it was only my second costume.
I take great pride in my work and always try to optimize communication throughout the commission process. I do a lot of research before a quote is given so I can be sure I am getting the best deal on the materials. I also work quickly but do a careful job.
I require half the costs before I begin. (This will include mostly the cost of supplies and possibly a bit of the labor charge.)I also will email you a sheet to fill out with your measurements ( please make sure these are right. Example: if you are going to be binding while wearing the costume measure while you are bound down.) I will update you on the progress of your costume through emails and pictures. Once the costume is finished the last half needs to be paid as well as the shipping for the costume. Once that has been received I will ship it to you. If there are any problems you can send it back for the cost of the shipping and I will fix it for free.
I charge $11 an hour, so the more complex and involved the costume the more the cost will go up. (For instance the labor charge on my first costume (Grell) would have been $66+ while my most recent (Yukito art book) would have been closer to $276+. There may also be shipping fees on some materials as there is some stuff I have only been able to find online. If you want the costume and cannot give three months to make it there is a rush charge to be determined by how soon you need it.
I can accept money order or paypal. I also will accept payment plans but the cost of materials must be paid before I will begin.
If you live in the Seattle Washington area then I can do fittings and there will be no shipping charge.
I do not make my own patterns as I do not know how to. I use already made patterns and modifiy them as needed.
If you are looking to get a commission then please read this:
To get a quote on a commission PM me here or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
please include in your email:
1. Name of character, series and reference pictures. (As many as you can find from different angles.)
2. Your budget (if applicable. If no budget is given then I will still work to keep cost as low as possible)
3. Your deadline. (Please try to set up the commission 3 months from when the costume is needed. While I will work quickly and efficiently and will often finish long before three months, I do still have to hold down a job outside of this )
4. An email address where I can reach you.
5. Material preference would be greatly appreciated. (if you donít know we can discuss it)
Examples of what I can do are:
Things I know a bit about but have not had the opportunity to make:
Simple armor (leather look alike)
I can also figure out how to do a lot of things not listed as I am very creative.
August: Open (rush)
