Question Question dealing with hairspray and a long wig!

I've done enough combing, heating (Arda IS heat resistant, which is great!) and brushing of my Eowyn wig (from Arda) to make sure it's somewhat untangled. I plan to go get the "Johnson's No More Tangles" detangler to see if I can fix all this frizz, but that's not the problem I'm worrying about ...

So after I have it all groomed out, I go to put it on and then it reverts back to its messy, ugly state. Of course since I'm jostling the wig around, moving it about and putting it on it's dumb to think that it would stay in the perfect way it was on the wig stand, but I'm hoping there's a better way to do this... once I take the wig off, and put it back on the head, it takes another half an hour or longer to straighten it AGAIN. I am not manhandling the wig - it cost me 50 dollars and I can't get a replacement! It does this no matter how gentle I am with it.

I am a first time wig-wearer, is this kind of thing normal?
I was thinking, if I got some hairspray and once I get it detangled and nice, I could lightly spray the whole wig with the hairspray. Not to really hold it firmly there (that would look very wierd and uncomfortable) but just to hold it enough so when I go to wear it it would somehow... retain its shape better? I'm not sure what to do
I would style it for an hour, try it on for 3 minutes, and then I'd have to take it off and style it again for another hour, it's like a vicious cycle.

((and by "styling" I mean just brushing and and straightening. No wierd spikes or anything like that, it's just a long straight wig. All the super styling I have left to do is just trim the bangs. A picture: http://arda-wigs.com/collections/eowyn))

Any words of advice would be really really REALLY appreciated! Thanks!

One, you might like to bust out the Silicon spray for long wigs.

Long wigs always tangle. It's there nature and if your costume is not smooth in the back it will again aggravate this problem even more.

Two you can hair spray the underside of the wig where is meet you clothes to keep that hair in place as I find that location is where all wigs tangle the most. But just that location as you don't want to ruin the flow of the wig.

Three do you lower the wig from above when putting it on? I also tie my wigs with sections of ribbon while transporting and place then on my head that way to prevent tangling.
