Naruto question: Aburame Shino

Ok, I was wondering if there was a specific name to the type of jacket Aburame Shino wears? Or if that kind of jacket even exists.
If you need to know what his jacket looks like, please go here.

Thanks.

If no one has replied yet, and there are some fairly hardcore Naruto fans out there, I doubt the jacket has a specific name. To me, it just looks like a jacket, not something specifically of Japanese origin.

No, there is no specific name for the jacket in question... To me, it's just seems like a wide turtleneck crossed with a jacket...

Ok, thanks a bunch. I was just wondering because of the length and width of the neck on the jacket.

I'm just altering an already existing jacket to Shino's style.

Well I bought a jacket that is from Abercrombie that kinda looks like shino but it isn't much use. Maybe you should try locate a book on sewing like someone else recommended me.

THERE IS A NAME for necks that go like that, I think it might be actually called something like an extended turtuleneck or something along those lines... my lithuanian friend has a shirt like that, and ive seen some in some japanese ninja movies and definetly inalot of other animes... Im sure theres some kind of name or atleast some kinds of clothing that are made that way.. I don't know about jackets that look exactly like his but... similar necks..

The name for the jacket type is called a 'funnel' jacket. The easiest way to make it is to either get or make a funnel jacket, then alter the collar to stand taller. I did it and it worked very well.

But where would you go about buying on of those kinds of jackets?

You either get lucky and find one at a store, or you modify a pattern like this.

Your best bet to make it look right is to actually make the jacket.
It's basically just a coat with a higher and extended collar

Edit: photos of mine up now, all I did was make a standard coat pattern and disregarded the collar bit and instead made it bigger.
