Yeah... I'm just wanting to get the Master Sword, Scabbard and Shield looking all realistic and stuff.... Ahem...does anyone know how much Fibre glass is? and where I can get it ahem.... But then again... I'm going to be starting the Tunic next year, continue to play my Ocarina for a while so it sounds professional... in a way.....

But also... if you read my commissions..... my Zelda needs her goddess harp... my Groose needs his "Legend of Groose" and my onee-chan (don't ask... she makes me call her that) is going as someone... if I'm lucky... she'll go as Dark Link... or Fi.... and then we have a Skyward Team~!!

Also.. it's better early than late... right?

Yeah... I had a guess I was way ahead.... but I'm also making it for Supanova so I'd like to get it started.... and I know that's not until a long time but I want to make the props look believable and realistic, and I wanna be able to play all of the warping songs and magical songs from the Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask (Dont know about Majoras Mask... I haven't played it yet)

I'm also starting now cause I have to make Goddess Zelda's dress, bracelets, the Goddess Harp and hair things... As well as the same Master Sword and Hylian Shield for a Dark Link and Groose's uniform... cause my dad wants to go as Groose now....

I've started planning/sorting out my Yugi Moto cosplay for next Smash^-^

I'm trying to find wigs and been researching ways to 'craft' the spikes. I've found a black wig, but not a magenta one and the ones I do find are more of a pink colour. so I might dye a blond wig magenta. I'm also practicing sculpting the front spike bangs out of felt.

As soon as I get the money for materials, I'll start making it. I donno how to make the millenium puzzel and I need to fix my duel disk since some of the plastics melted -_-; if not I'm just gonna make one.

Oh your going as Yugi?! I would have loved to get pictures with you as Aki but I unfortunately have retired her. I am going to next year's SMASH as Fem!Italy so I wil be looking out for you.

Also for your wig. MalindaChan is selling her old Yami wig on EBay she recently put it up so you should get to it soon. She's a fucking flawless Yugioh cosplayer, I'm a big fan of hers

@Yukora-Chan: thanks for the heads up! I'll check out the wig^-^ I'll be looking out for you too at Smash 2013!, I wov Italy and can't wait to see your fem ver. ^-^

@CC:

hmmm...my suggestions for Mohawks sword would be, that before anything do a sketch, use ref pictures and look at objects that would fit it, on top of that consider if you want it actual size and how heavy you want it, oh and if it abides by the weapon policy and stuff.

AND most importantly MONEY! Would you have money to finish/afford materials and the time to make it all.

You could assign a commissioner, meanlilkitty is really great at large scale props/ props and accessories in general. I've seen positive reviews on her commissions yet I don't know her pricing. i've never Commissioned anythin off her before but I'm thinking of getting her to do my Millennium puzzle for me. By the looks of her prop photo's she's very professional.

Her store :http://www.cosplay.com/marketplace/s.../62317/cat/all

Her profile account: http://www.cosplay.com/member/48850/

All her works :http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/120339/

Yet if you want to make....

this is what I'd do:

the handle : I'd use a half wooden spool, sand paper the hell out of it and after use modelling clay to shape the top of it, where the little gem sits. then after the clay has set I'd shape it more to match the ref. pic.

the blade: I'd use that soft wood, I'm pretty sure it's called plywood( I don't really retain the types of wood I use-_-;someone please conferm this!) shape with sand paper ,
I know that it can be bought at Bunning's^-^;

the piece in the middle of the sward (soz. dunno what it's called)
: use plywood again, sand the hell out of that and shape including the ends.

engravings:
with the engravings you could do a lot

1. etch it all out with an etch tool but it'll take a while
2. use WHITE hot glue (as white is much better then clear) and draw the shapes on
3. clay and stick them on individually.

personally I recommend the hot glue method( use engraving method on the sward too)

the gems:
the gem on top: you could use resin, yet I haven found a place in Sydney that sells it yet. you could paint a foam ball instead~

the gems on the sward: those plastic diamond gems are pretty good to use, if you want round smooth ones you could sand the (diamond cut ones) and lightly burn it with a lighter or match maybe. Stick to sword after you coloured it . It's important to patch the size up so that the size fits on the sward.

after everything I'd done, spray everything white (,you don't have too, this is what id do) and colour each part separate. attach the sward with (hot glue, nail glue, super glue blah blah blah what ever suits you really) and use coth/ a bandage for the top.

if you want the sward sheath. I don't really know much about sheath so maybe look around for threads about these.

(I haven't got that far into the series, and haven't seen the character yet and am going off the pictures in google so therefore the stuff above me it totally off the top of my head @w@ )

just look around the forums or post something in the construction section on here if you need some help. I'm sure that some one would be more then happy to help you out ^-^
