Easy Jewels!
I was looking for jewels to put in a crown and realized that those big rhinestone gems are super expensive. Instead of paying a ton for one big jewel, I just ordered this necklace and took it apart.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321012845493...84.m1497.l2649 I bought the purple, and the necklace came in today. It was super cheap, made from plastic, which means it was super easy to take apart. The jewels are flat in the back and are of decent size, with the large ones being a little over 1 1/2 inches. Each gem is of course plastic, but for $9 you get a LOT of them, all matching and in different shapes. There are a lot of different colors, too. I know my friends hate making their own jewels, so I thought I would put this here in hopes that someone can use my experience to help themselves! ![]() Last edited by vervv : 11-19-2012 at 12:13 PM. |

Oh wow, this is perfect, thank you! I was having the exact same problem, so I've been looking around for a solution. Glad to hear it worked out so well for you, this'll be perfect for the stuff I'm working on! ^_^ Individually, those rhinestones can cost SO much, so this is such an awesome find!

Here is an image of the jewels set in my armor. I used a box of tictacs for reference! ![]() |
