Adding straps to boots?
I'm planning on doing a Perona Cosplay soon and I was looking at purchasing her boots but they cost like $80-90 and I think that's ridiculous for boots like that.
I was thinking about buying boots like these (pic below) and adding straps to them but I'm wondering how I can do that and what materials would be good to use? Pic of what I would add the straps to ![]() Here is what her boots look like ![]() |

Well, I would try to find fabric that's the same shade and material as the boots(I'm guessing it's vinyl or pleather..) Cut them out into long rectangles, buy the belt buckles and loop the rectangles through the belt buckles and then sew it onto the boots.
I'm hoping that made sense..

As the figure is painted, it looks more like a red vinyl as opposed to magenta. Also, her boots appear to be flat stack boots, aka platform boots.
EDIT: I looked at more reference photos. Yeah, magenta is just fine, and they aren't completely flat, they've got a bit of a heel. Still platforms though. Don't mind me. If you want the straps to jut out like that, you can work some thin stiff wire into them. Last edited by verdatum : 08-08-2012 at 01:48 PM. |
