Sakura-con 2013 Masquerade ball

Is anyone going this year? Is it any fun? I might go this year but I am not sure. If you are going, are you going in cosplay? If so, as who?

I may. I'm not sure though..I may go as Cloud Strife. Obviously a masked dressed up version but still.

I think my Girlfriend and I are planning on being Demon!Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis for the masquerade. We have some pretty spiffy outfits in the works.

I'm already excited and its like 8 months away.

I've been to Sakura-con twice, but the ball only once because I had heard about it later when I checked the programming afterwards. As far as the first one I had a really good time in it and enjoyed the dancing a lot mainly because it was all ballroom dancing. The venue was great because it was a masquerade rather than just a formal dance it gave me a chance to add something to my Ciel Phantomhive costume. Plus I had chance to react with a lot of new people from different states. All and all its definitely worth going you'll usually find someone to dance with and converse with.

this will be my 5th year at s-con and i still don't know what the masquerades are like. i think it would be fun because the character i will cosplay, yoshimitsu, has a customization where he wears a top hat, but the entire thing is armor so i doubt they would let me through...

I would want to go and go as Princess Tiana or maybe Yuna with her wedding dress on, now that I think about it probably not Yuna but who knows lol.

I think I changed my mind on this..I don't feel I should go alone. Seems a bit weird to me..If I have a gf or something by then, then yea I guess I could see myself going, But idk

I don't think you should be discouraged from going just because you don't have a 'date'. I went with my girlfriend last year but to be quite honest I danced with almost everyone BUT her. xD Their hosts are really nice and its really fun. As long as you're not shy its easy to have a good time without a date.

Well that's just it. I not only wont have a date OR a friend with me (at this point anyway, who knows at the con time), but I'm not good with talking to people I haven't met.

Hey man don't worry. There's a dance lesson before the Masquerade Ball starts so I recommend showing up. They'd teach you how to Waltz, East Coast Swing, Salsa etc. Or if you're lucky enough to find me before the event. I'm willing to teach you the basic and how to get started. I used to been a dance assistance back at Fanime's B&W Ball that I helped a lots of con attendee have a great time. Plus I go there by myself there since I'm coming all the way from California. Don't feel discourage we're all here to make new friends.

I'll probably show up with my new Sinistar mask with a formal outfit.
