So I'm making my Alois Trancy cosplay completely from scratch and I want to put my own variations into it. Like I feel like using all the colors he has in the anime works there.. but when you bring it into real life it can start looking a little flat. Plus, I couldn't find a green fabric with black pin stripes and wasn't really interested in using ribbon to make them.. I saw some green brocade but it didn't look that great.. then I found a very pretty vintage looking upholstery fabric that's kind of a beige color of some sort with some pink, purple, and small bit of blue. So.. if I have a floral vest.. will it still work for the outfit? I mean, I'm doing his normal coat and I have the shorts and boots and wig and contacts.. Will I still be recognizable as Alois?

My coat fabric has a lightly red-ish tint to it because that went better with the floral than a straight up purple did. I'll still have the shorts, boots, ribbons, socks, bow, etc.
Will people know who I am even if I don't have the green vest?

Huh I don't think my last post posted? Hmm..
Anyway.. this is a progress photo of the vest:

(It looks huge but it still hasn't been completely put together yet lol)
The back of the vest is black.. satin kind of stuff. The fabric for the coat is a red-ish purple.. because it looked better with the vest fabric than straight up purple did. I've seen other people do a more red toned jacket as well and I think it works alright. I also won't be altering the design of it or anything so it will look just like his coat and I'll have the boots and all that as well. A floral vest won't throw people off will it? lol
