Cheapass leather!
W00T! There's a shoe-repair store near me on Roncesvalles that's going out of business and is selling great big bags (like garbage bag size) of leather in various colours for $15. Didn't catch the address, but it's about halfway between Queen and Dundas, just north of the IGA.

I'm guessing that there aren't any large pieces (enough to make a coat) of leather? Since it is for shoes they probably only have smaller bits...

Roncesvalles is a bit of a way from Yonge. It runs south from Dundas West Station, where Dundas curves up to meet Bloor. So about halfway along the west side of the Bloor subway line.
I haven't dug through my bag yet but you're probably right, not huge pieces but they weren't all tiny either. ^_^ Kisa, I can buy you a bag if you like. Last I saw they had one bag of mixed burgundy and black, and one bag of brown...but the woman said they'd be putting out other bags as well.

Save your time, people. It seems to have gone from closing to closed.
 There was a phone number for order pick-ups, if anyone wants to call that and ask about the leather (there was at least one bag of brown and black still in the window) -- I didn't think to copy it down, but the store is on the corner of Wright and Roncesvalles (if anyone was looking for slightly more specific directions). |
