Mabel's Sweater
Planning on doing a Mabel (Gravity Falls) cosplay cuz she's so cute. Does anyone know where i can get a HUUUGGGEE sweater like the one she wears? I don't know how to knit so i can't make one myself. Thanks!

The most adorable haha. Which sweater do you want to recreate? She wears a couple. You can find big sweaters at thrift stores. You could also look for men's sweatshirts since they'll give a really bulky look. The only problem is finding one that's a turtleneck. Potentially if you get a hoodie, you might be able to create a turtle neck and make it double over so that it covers the seam...

I found a sweater/sweatshirt from Calvin Klein Performance that comes in many of the right colors for Mabel and needed very little modification. The neck just needs some batting for shape and the front pocket can be removed. If you get it in Large or plus sized it will probably be baggy enough for the sleeves but I just went for the normal fit. Sweater progress photo: http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3308593/
If you are looking for something less expensive I also recommend looking at sweatshirts to mod. And SOOO many people have found awesome sweaters at thrift stores. *Thank you Tumblr!* |
