I could really use a hand searching for an item please.
Hi guys, I've literally been searching at least 1-2 hours a day for a whole week straight online and just can't seem to pin-point what i'm looking for. I'm looking to purchase a cheap halloween style latex/rubber/plastic muscle chest like a super-hero would wear or for reference batman's style of muscle armor. i've searched up and down ebay and just can't seem to find decent priced muscles chests or even a huge selection at all. i've tried so many different tags and search queries to no avail...all i need this for is the abdominals so i can cut them out for my cosplay outfit i'm making. if anyone could help me on this search that'd be greatly appreciated!
edit: these guys all seem to kinda have what i'm looking for http://behindthemask.yuku.com/reply/...r#.UEUgVJbnd8E but i would assume they are all making it themselves...which i can't do. and i don't need the whole thing, just need to cut the abdominals out. Depending on what you need you can try to go for a Halloween costume that has the muscles in it. You can try Party City for those.

yeah, your budget is what is making that difficult. A Superman with the lightweight foam muscled chest is going to be close to your budget.... and that is the lowest quality fake muscles out there.

Yep, $30-50 isn't gonna get you much aside from a "deluxe" Halloween costume. Considering a normal unsculpted adult jumpsuit can run you close to $30, you'd be hard pressed to find a muscle suit for cheap. Even fan made replica suits can cost hundreds of dollars, considering all of the tasks and materials involved in making one: sculpting a positive, making molds, casting in rubber or foam, trimming, and painting.
One thing you could do is get a muscled costume, then reinforce it. Whether that means coating it in a stronger outer surface, or reinforcing it underneath with more foam or another material, you can build up a standard Halloween costume into what you need. Another option would be to make it yourself. If your character has an outer shirt, you could take upholstery foam, carve it into the muscles you need, and glue it to an undershirt that you put on before the costume's final layer. |
