Using model magic and creative paperclay together?
Has anyone used paperclay and model magic together? I need to make a statue's wig (cosplaying a statue) and I was thinking of perhaps a paper machie base (made of my head) with the model magic over top to build up areas, and then the creative paperclay on top of that to do the details (hair).
Do the two types of paper clay work well together? Do they stick nicely to each other? |

I'd do it all in paper mache. You can make fat strands that are voluminous without being heavy by twisting up big sheets of paper (just dry) and using the mache over them.

Creative paperclay bonds well to model magic. I made a helmet completely out of model magic and layered paperclay on top.
But like animenerd93 mentioned, paperclay is extremely heavy when it dries. Unless you're only making minor details and filling in cracks, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're prepared for a massive headache. |
