My mom says i'm negative because i'm very opinionated. If someone asks me for my opinion, i'm going to be honest.i'm not going to lie for your satisfaction . I'm emotionally detatched to many people because I fear that people may use things against me. But i'm really friendly, just don't expect me to open up to you so quickly. I'm not a mean person, it's just the way I am. I am negative if you don't understand where i'm coming from. But if you understand me, you may see me as a positive person and know that i'm not trying to hurt you. I will never hurt anyone! I'm just a blunt person. In other words, i'm brutally honest.

I'm actually extremely negative. I find that if I expect the worst, then if the worst does happen, big whoop, I was expecting it all along. But if something better happens, it's 10x as great, because I was expecting the worst.

I'm the opposite of what everyone else is. Everyone's having a shining rainbow party of optimism, I'm a raincloud. Everyone's grumbling about how terrible things are, I'm all bubbles and sunshine. People hate me for it. I find it exceedingly amusing.

In general, my demeanor is positive. I tend to see the good sides of people and things that get people down or frustrated don't seem to bother me very much, so I'm always smiling and rarely in a bad mood.

When it comes to expectations of a situation, though, I'm fairly realistic. With my job, I have to be - I have to regularly assess the situation and respond accordingly in times when the outcome is likely to be bad (I work with a lot of people with cancer).

I'd like to see myself as a positive realist.

I look at things in a realistic manner. I analyze a situation, look at options, calculate the chances in how far that's possible, do what I think is best and then review how it went.

I do however look at it in a positive manner. I'll use an example I had with a friend of mine who is more of a negative realist.

We were talking about the lottery and how the chances were of winning. We are both realists and said, well, the chance that you'll win is very low. <insert numbers of local lottery>.

After which my friend said: I wouldn't participate in it, since the chance that I'll win is so low.

My response however was: I would participate in it, since there is a chance that I'll win. And not participating would mean I'd have a 0% chance on winning.

I'm always positive. Even in a situation where someone is being condescending or speaking negatively towards or about me. If I respond in a negative manner, it'll only make the situation worse. So I always respond positively. Plus I'm a semi-sadist, so knowing how frustrated they get when their words don't upset me, but instead bring out a positive response, makes me happy :P Guess that actually makes me a psuedo-positive person, since I'm being negative towards someone by being positive?
