Magical Glowy Arrows?

Hello there!

So I'm going to be cosplaying Madoka from Madoka Magica, and while my bow is all set, I've been having major difficulties with making an arrow for it.

The arrows don't seem to be solid in the anime (References here, here, and here) They seem to be more like... Magical Glowy Energy.

I've been thinking of just using a large glowstick or something, but I'd have to constantly replace it, plus the biggest ones I can find are not big enough (To look proportionate with my bow, they would have to be at least ~20in.)

My other options would be something made of a light pink transparent/translucent material. But for the life of me, I can't think of any material like that that isn't like, glass or something.

Please Help ;;

Thanks for reading!

U could either cast it in resin (def not recommended as it'll b extremely fragile!) or use the clear tubing that is used for aquarium tanks. You could run el wire throug that and it should b stable enough plus have the lights in it

I second the tubing with EL wire. Though the only problem is they are kinda limp so you would have to figure out how to stiffen them..I would also recommend that clear plastic..I think it's like acrylic or something..It's a transparent plastic sheet. Cut out a long rectangle and essentially MAKE the tubing like we both mentioned..However it will be much more stiff. You can heat form it but be careful as it can melt. Then attach the EL wire the same way

Only problem with the EL wire is your arrows will have a big, block inverter and power supply in them. It'll be bulky, heavy, and the inverters tend to be loud. Maybe a thin acrylic tube (craft stores or aquarium shops would have them), painted semi-opaque pink with a tiny pocket flashlight in the end to give it that "glowy" look?

What I would do is, if you're able to find it, get a thin hollow plastic (any kind of plastic) rod, sand the outside with a fine sandpaper so it diffuses the light more, and find a long enough led strip you can still in it.
I just don't know what you'd do with the battery pack and all.. but that's an idea for the long part of it ^^;

You could try using low power LEDs for lighting (if you wired them together in parallel with enamel wire or better yet you could run them off a few button cells).

Maybe form the arrow from three layers of pink tinted arcylic stacked on top of each other; drill some holes in the middle layer to mount the LEDs in, glue the wire along its sides to it trails out of the back and then sandwich it between the other two.
