What do you really think of brolitas?
I would like an honest answer. What do you really think of guys in lolita? Like 'em, hate 'em, think they should do something else? I would love an honest answer here on that. Thanks.

Hm....
I think it depends on the guy. With lolita, one obvious goal is femininity, which, naturally, can be very difficult for a man. If a man is running around in a sweet lolita dress, and he's got a hairy beer belly poking out from under his blouse, hairy legs, and stubble on his face - well, thats not very feminine. However, if its a young, small, clean-shaven man, he would have a much easier time looking good in lolita. Examples! If a guy looks like this, then obviously he would have a much easier time looking cute in lolita... ![]() http://Darkkillercod.deviantart.com/...er-02-85270976 Than a guy who looks like this... ![]() (I didn't have the heart to post an actual example) Personally If I see a guy in a dress who actually looks good In that dress, I usually get confused, because I can't figure out if its a pretty guy or an ugly girl. (lets face it, what is a cute bone structure on a guy is rarely cute as a girl) Only once in my life have I seen -in person- a person who would have been beautiful as a man, and beautiful as a woman. To this day I still don't know which they were. As a general rule (in my opinion) I think that most guys don't look good in the female lolita styles. However, seeing a guy in Dandy, Ouji, kadona, or Elegant Gothic Aristocrat makes me drool. *dreamy eyes* ![]() Last edited by Kirotighta : 12-27-2008 at 12:52 AM. |

I guess it all hinges on whether or not they're doing the style properly. If a guy is just throwing on something that's super lacey with terrible makeup and no wig or stockings, it's not going to fly. It's the same with girls. As long as you're doing it properly, I could care less.

I could care less whether or not guys wear lolita, their under the same expectations as everyone else. However, a little more attention to makeup is a plus!

I don't really mind, but I still havent seen one guy that looks good in lolita. They have the masculine in their face that makes it to hrd I think.

Personally I don't like seeing men in WOMEN Lolita clothing. I think they need to stick to men lolita, but that is just me. Not saying they can't I just think they shouldn't unless they REALLY look like a women. (For instance many Jrocks are VERY feminine) So if they guy looks more like a chick than me, GO FOR IT! If not, sorry pal, gonna have to ask you to take that off right away before I beat you for insulting female lolita's. As for the example posted above, I give him props. Not half bad. Just think he needs more attention to making his face LOOK feminine.

But I agree, it is much harder for a guy, as part of the lolita image is about looking delicate, and natue is the way it is. However, if he's cleanshaven and follows the basic lolita rules, I think a guy in lolita would look perfectly fine, but getting the fit right may be a bit difficult, because of broader shoulders and longer torsos. n n' |
