Would this be awkward?

Ok for my next two cons I'm cosplaying Kushina Uzumaki and Kurenai from Naruto. I am huge around the waist area so I thought to do these two pregnant versions as I could pass as them more easier. I am by no means really pregnant. I was thinking of maybe doing more cosplays like this but is this wrong to do? I know women who are pregnant and cosplay tend to do these but if someone who was not does them is it like very awkward or fun?

Depends on if you'll mind people asking how along are you, or if they can "feel" your stomach. The librarian in no way was cosplaying, but anytime she was out or working people would ask her if they could feel for kicks. So, if you'll find that awkward then there you go.

I personally don't find it awkward and I'm ok with the random pregnant questions. I would be cosplaying so I could chose to act in character but of course let ppl know I'm not really pregnant. I guess it's a bit the same concept as crossplay.

It might be a little awkward for the person that asks you about your "pregnancy" and you tell them you're not, but hey, that's why they say "Never ask if a woman is pregnant unless the baby's actually coming out" (or something like that). If you don't think you personally will feel awkward, then go for it. And if anyone gives you crap about it, don't worry about them.

as stated above only weird thing will be the pregnant questions you could always say no this is part of my cosplay or something so they don't feel so awkward or ask to touch.

I've seen a lot of people who aren't pregnant cosplay pregnant characters, so if you want to do it, go for it.

I think it'll be fine too. You might get many questions though about if you're pregnant

I actually knew someone who cosplayed pregnant Kurenai a couple years ago. According to her, you're more likely to get the "are you really pregnant?" question than "when's the baby due?" No one seemed offended when she said she wasn't either.

I cosplayed the pregnant version of Kushina and I got looks but no questions. I was nervous that some one would say something about it but they never did.

Hopefully you're not a minor, haha...because I think you'll get questioned about the baby-bump. People get a little stupid around pregnant woman thinking it is okay to touch them or ask personal question.

My advise, prepare yourself for people acting stupid. :P

I think it is fine, but some people when they ask if you are pregnant and you tell them no, they will feel like they offended you. When people ask that and the answer is no, they feel bad for "calling you fat" or whatever, so they may get a little shy around you thinking that you are mad.

see thats what I was thinking. Thats why I don't think most people would ask.

@Rangiku12
I didn't get any pictures of it unfortunately, sorry! But the next time I put It on I will put them up!
Its nice to see other nice Kushina cosplayers.
I've ran into one with a Minato and they kind of just glared at me...
