I used to go to about four a year, but I've cut that back to two since I adopted yet another really expensive hobby.

"Too much" really depends on how much money you have and how much time you can afford to take off from work/school. I started out going to one (and very occasionally two) cons a year. This year I went to three cons and I'm considering going to a fourth that's local enough I won't need hotel/travel money, but that pretty much depends on whether I can afford to take take off from work that weekend. I know someone who went to ten cons this year and they were pretty much broke all summer. She said for her it was worth it since she really enjoyed herself, but I personally would rather attend fewer cons and have less financial stress in my life. It all depends on the person.

Oh yeah, that's another good point. How many depends on what city you're in.. Houston isn't bad but we only have three major cons year round. Okay, two good ones really. To go to cons I have to travel at least two hours away.

While my friends in the DFW area can go to ALOT more. It seems like Dallas has alot of nice cons over there.. It's like every weekend they have something XD Plus Austin and San Antonio is pretty close there.

Yeah, if I lived closer to central Texas, would definitely be going to alot more.

I've gone to three this year so far, two in July, one in August and another one in November before I am done for the season. I will probably only go to three next year. My parents really want me to cut it down on the con-going. It's pretty addicting though! D;

This is my first year attending cons, and I've been to 3 of them (AOD in San Francisco, Fanime in San Jose, and Anime Expo in Los Angeles). I'm planning to attend AOD and Fanime again next year, but I don't know if I'll get to go to AX again because it's rather far ): I do hope to go to Japan Expo in Santa Clara, though.

Three anime related cons: Nan desu Kan, Anime Land Wasabi and AX. Then Denver Comic con, and a sci-fi convention. I usually only spend a day or so at the comic/sci-fi cons though~ they don't hold my interest as well ;;

Well cons are free, what you pay is for the extras. So technically...you can go to 20 cons a year and spend nothing. Not every con is like that though.

Wait, what? Where do you live? XD;
Every con over here you need to at the very LEAST pay a badge.. (20 to 40 dollars). I mean, I guess some venues you can technically roam without going into the rooms like panels and dealers room... but that's really discouraged.
And I dunno about you, but still gotta eat haha.

I'm going to try to hit up 5 a year. There's about 3 - 5 conventions I plan on attending about an hour away from me, so those are pretty easy to get to.

But you still have to pay for that said food.. (Unless you're just mooching off of someone) Though it is alot cheaper than purchasing at whatever hotel. But I still count that into my "con expenses"

I go to about 6 a year. I don't think there is such a thing as too many conventions.

There aren't really many cons in Scotland, and I've been to 2 this year (Dee-Con and Collectormania, though that's more of a sci-fi event than an anime con) though this is only my first year cosplaying xD. There are more cons down in England, the biggest being London MCM Expo, but I'm only 14 and probably won't get to go to those bigger ones until I'm a bit older. Though I go to cosplay meets about once every month/every two months (I'm going to one today) that are held in mostly either Glasgow or Edinburgh which are always good
