Looking for help with Rainbow Randolph costume
Hey guys, I'm new here and in serious need of some of your expertise. I'm wanting to make a Rainbow Randolph costume from Death to Smoochy. The best I can find is a polyester three-piece suit, but it will need to be dyed to match Randolph's rainbow pattern.
Anyone have any tips on how to go about dying it? Fabric spray paint? Here's a pic for those who don't know the character: ![]() |

That is actually a sequin covered fabric. While it's entirely possible to do that, and it isn't terribly hard, it would be mind numbingly tedious and take for.ev.er. to complete.
I'd paint the jacket with high quality fabric paints that have that same iridescent shine, probably something from the Jacquard company. I would NOT use any type of sprayed paint (not can, air brush, etc.) because parts of the jacket need to stay cleanly white. Mask them off with blue painters tape VERY carefully, then brush paint.
