Snow White Fabric

So I am going to be Snow White for Halloween this year.

And I am needing help on Fabric choices.

I dont know if I want to go with a softer yellow or a bright yellow, and what kind of fabric could I use for the bodice part of the dress?

All advice welcome! =D

Dunno, what's the weather like on Halloween where you live? I've seen an all velvet version that absolutely rocked, but would be too hot if you lived someplace warm like me.

Snow White is a very old story, some versions give her a sister Rose Red (who dies or is evil, depending on which one you read). It was Walt Disney who put her in yellow, which was purely a design choice, it had nothing to do with the story. I don't have anything against Disney, but I think you are talented enough to step outside the box a bit too how about shifting the color palette entirely? deep gold, dark red, almost-black-purple?

I'd recommend using satin but it may be a bit heavy and hot depending on the weather. Satin comes in many colors and it's very drapey and princess-like. I buy my satin at Joanns. DO NOT use stretch satin or the super cheap kind. The best kind to use is around $5-7 per yard. Check out this for more info on fabrics: http://www.fabric.com/SitePages/Glossary.aspx
Good luck!

I personally prefer the pale yellow to the brighter yellow. A good quality satin or cotton sateen would work well for skirt.
A lot of people seem to use velvet for the top part of the dress. Velvet is a gorgeous material and would suit a princess costume
