How to style a base wig into looking like it's tied up?

I'm going to be getting a wig base and 2 clip-on pony tails and I was wondering how I can style the base wig into looking like it's part of the clip-ons? What products do you recommend me using to style it?

We will need extra wefts as all wigs don't have the thickness for up do's.

Or you buy a pre-parted wig and add the ponytails.
